Swanage Folk Festival
9-10th September 2023

A memorable Swanage Folk Festival.

It was extremely hot and sunny, which was both good and bad. I was recovering from a couple of NHS treatments but was determined to be at Swanage. Alas, the heat and the side-effects proved a bit too challenging so Chris and I returned home on the Sunday morning

The festival was as enjoyable as ever, with new dance spots and a number of new dance teams

OBJ comprised: Adam, Ali, AndyW, Chris, Claire, Clare, Claudia, Colin, Eddie, Joe, Kelly, MaryAnn, Mike, Peter, Philip, Rose and Tony

Some pictures of the dancing on the Saturday.

First, at the Red Lion, then the new Pier Head spot, followed by the Clock Tower spot.

Then we travelled up to Corfe Castle, by which time the heat had taken its toll. As the railway timetable didn't offer much opportunity for dancing at the castle, we opted for a couple of dances at the station, and a bit of R&R!

And a few pictures from the massed dancing on Sunday

A few other odds-and-ends

The aquatic dancing took place as usual, in what seems to have been a flat calm sea. Ali and Andy stepped up to assist with the drumming.
