Saturday morning at the Red Lion

You travel over the hills and far away to Swanage, and who do you share the first spot with? HuMP - our nearest neighbours!

We started with some intensive milling-around, then I think there was probably a Dilwyn and a White Ladies Aston. The latter included a fine display of Twerking.

Saturday morning at the Mowlem Centre

OBJ was on a high by this time, and the spot looked and sounded amazing

The dances were a Much Gridlock, a Worcestershire Monkey and a Brimfield

The Sea Front

Last stop on the Saturday afternoon in Swanage was the sea front near the Clock Tower

These pictures are from a Craven Stomp

Then to Corfe Castle via the Swanage Railway

We shared a spot there with Mayflower and Cornucopia

Sunday started with an impromptu spot

We were joined by Fox's Morris at the Mowlem Centre

It included Worcestershire Monkey and Tide as a warm-up for the later massed dancing

  Mid-afternoon on the sea-front

Ready for the massed dancing and the aquatic morris that customarily ends the festival

Helen shows that she's ready for the sea

The Aquatic Dancing

We were joined by Emma and little Sam, plus Freya from our B&B

The dances were Dilwyn, followed by our traditional last dance "Tide". The pictures show a level of precision that was only achieved very briefly!

Sam chuckled happily through the whole thing, clutched firmly by his dad.

Karen brought her little dog along

She proved to be very popular

  Looking for Dorset's wildlife

This often involves a visit to the beautiful Arne nature reserve, where we encountered this Smooth Snake
