OBJ Morris - 2019 Scrapbook

Bracknell Community Day
15th June 2019

We've been encouraging this event and this was the second year of it's existence. The Easthampstead Rotary Club and other local organisations put a lot of work into making it happen.

The new Lexicon Centre has a couple of potentially good dance spots, and with a bit more attention to seating etc they could work very well.

OBJ comprised: Ali, Ann, Christine, Colin, Eddie, IanJ, Joe, Karen, Mark, Mike, Philip, Sarah, Trish and Vera

This area is known as Bond Square, and has a covered stage with astro-turf covered steps for the audience.

The immense block of flats behind the stage is not yet inhabited, and perhaps when it is, it will add to the audience in the area. It's sandwiched between Waitrose and Marks& Spencer so there is a reasonable flow of people moving through the space.

A couple of photos turned up, which happen to be very similar. If you're reading this, you can play spot-the-difference

The other performance area is known as Bull Square, named after The Bull pub, which is possibly the only surviving building from Bracknell's original town centre

The facade behind us depicts what "The Deck" will look like when it's opened. It will be an area of cafe's etc, which should bring new life to this part of The Lexicon. For now, it provides a "virtual audience" of people standing on the terrace and watching us. There was also a smaller "real audience" outside the pub.

We seem to enjoy having group photos taken, so here are a couple.

The first was taken outside The Bull and the second on the astro-turf steps of Bond Square
